Hello - I am looking for information on my maternal great-grandfather - Cyril Brawn, born in 1912 in Newport Pagnell. I am trying to establish his parentage - mother's maiden name Ward and I believe he had a sister, Cicely, born in 1914, although so far I have only been able to find her birth record and nothing in marriages or deaths. I have listed his parents as the most likely I can find in the 1911 census but was wondering if there was any way to verify whether my suppositions are correct. Any help would be appreciated. :-S |

Thanks all - really helpful - poor Cicely - married Sidney in at thed beginning of the War and lost him just before the end in 45. The second marriage looks very plausible - I can't see that she had children from either of these marriages. |

Hi Reggie - just to let you know I tried to look up Cicely and Sidneys child but couldn't establish which particular person you were referring to. Can I just clarify that it is not the done thing to post anything about people who may still be alive? |

That is correct, Liela...........it's invasion of privacy to post info about living people without their knowledge or consent. |

I have come across these Brawns many times before - one of the sons was killed in WW1 and there is information available online. I always assumed they were cousins maybe of my Brawns because I had no way of establishing my Cyril and Cecily were linked as they were born after the 1911 census. I never knew that Mary-Janes maiden name was Ward though so am amazed. I will await the birth certificate of Cyril with baited breath and apologise to all for the multiple threads. Many thanks!! |
