Alviegal.....Yes, that looks correct...He had been visiting the family...Grannie and Granda lived there....But must have returned to S.A.
It was common knowledge in the family that Andrew lived somewhere in S.A.

Yes we have tried BDM and also contacted S.A. Cape Town registrars...we got details of a Andrew hutton but it was proved to be the wrong Andrew...That Andrew was recorded as born in Glasgow and also wrong birth year..

Andrew reported his brother's death...so he must have been nearby...Cape Town and Saldanha Bay, South Africa...see Thomas Hutton details ....

Got Death Details from South Africa....
Thomas Hutton unmarried, born Peterhead, Scotland..F= William Hutton and M= Mary Smith. (so this is the correct Thomas)...
Occupation...Blacksmith. (Thomas's Grandfather was a Blacksmith).
Residence of deceased....120 Strand St., Woodstock, Cape Town 8001 S.Africa.
Died 3rd.Sept. 1952 (age recorded was 60yrs.)
Place where Thomas died...Donkergat Whaling Station, Saldanha Bay, South Africa.
Thomas worked for Donkergat Whaling Co. Ltd..
Death reported by ANDREW HUTTON, Brother present at funeral.

there are quite a few south African record's on family search,what part of south Africa did he go to.

Trying to find out about our Andrew Hutton who emigrated to South Africa.
Andrew was born in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire 1884.
My notes on him...
"Went to South Africa and never returned. Was also in WW1 with brother, Thomas.
1901 Census...Andrew lived at 3 Maiden St., Peterhead with his mother and siblings...Apprentice Joiner at 16.

1911 Census...Andrew aged 25 was living at Toxteth Parl Lancashire.

Andrew reported the death of his brother Thomas in S.A. in 1952, but unfortunately unable to find out any more details of him."
We know about Thomas but couldn't find out what happened to Andrew.
Someone in S.A. might just know....?? :-)
