Hello Sylvia and welcome to the Community Boards.

If you click on the Search facility above, and then put Robert's name into the Search all Trees box, you will see that there are many members who have that name in their trees. Unfortunately, without contacting them all, it would be difficult to know if any of them are the one you are searching for.

A needle in a haystack search sadly.

There are some with the name Lees in East Retford, but no-one has a Robert.

May be worth playing around with the search facility and contacting any you think may be connected.

The Walker family lived there in 1911 and cannot see a Robert Lees living in that area on the 1911

There are some in Nottinghamshire but not East Retford

I have recently come across a World War 1 postcard picturing 4 soldiers in uniform.
The postcard is addressed to Robert Lees, 30 Caledonian Road Retford Nottinghamshire .Unfortunately there is no message on the card or any indication which of the pictured soldiers sent the card.
I would dearly love to know the story behind the picture.
If anybody out there recognises the name or has any information about Robert or the
possible sender please post a reply via the messages page.

Many Thanks
