i am researching the holder family of birmingham, and have a problem i hope someone can answer.i am at the the moment looking into the life of John Holder b 1812 in Birmingham-d Birmingham workhouse Dec 1860[not confirmed].He supposedly married a Mary Ann Stevens b Bilston,Staffs in 1812,and from what i can gather had 10 children,of which i have record of 9;1]Susannah b 1832 d 1892,2]Joseph Thomas b1835,d 1920 approx,3]John Henry b 1836 d1890,4]Mary Ann b1837 d ?5]Sarah Ann b 1840,d 1845,6]Richard b 1842 d 1904,7]Caroline b 1844 d1872[not certain]8]William Henry b 1847 d 1864 and 9]Henry b 1849 d 1896.I have recently obtained the birth certificates for Caroline and Richard ,also the birth and death certificates for Sarah Ann,and on all four it states the mothers name was formally Herbert, not Stevens. On every site and record i have looked at,includind census it states the mothers name was formally Stevens. I have as yet been unable to find a record of a John Holder marrying a Mary Ann Stevens or Herbert around that time .Has anyone got any suggestions, and also put a name to the tenth child, also confirm Carolines death date.thank you. |
