Can't see any sign of him in 1841

There is no-one named Fincher of remotely the right age in the Evesham Union (includes North Littleton)

Nor is there an unmarried John - whose surname is not transcribed - of the right age

BTW...................did he and Eliza actually marry?

The ONLY Finchers in Evesham area in 1841 are in Bengeworth

Thanks Reggie.

This is confusing

John Abel married Eliza Sheppey in 1841 (before the census) They had a child out of marriage. So what I am wondering is did John abel change his name from Fincher to Abel

.I cant find a birth for either John Abel or fincher In North Littleton Worcestershire. All the childrens names and dates of birth on the 1851 are correct for this to be the same family. If you look on the 1851 census they all have the middle initial A.Is this jus coincidence?

Here they are on the 1861 census

Thanks Dea

I Have come across those names before but discounted them because I couldnt find them on any census. Now you have found them on the 1841 I will have to take another look at them to see if there is a connection. If that is my family then who areJosh and sarah Key. Is Sarah their mother and she has remarried. I will have to look into that.

this would account for why Johns dad isnt ion the marriage cert.

thanks again

Jane
