Can anyone help me find William Sherriff who married Margaret Cowling in 1836 in St Peter's Church, Liverpool? I cannot find where and when he was born - he was a mariner - and seems to have died in Spain but again I don't know where or when. Anybody help? |

Reggie, I can now see her all census 1841-1881, all living in Salcombe and alone. Not much help at all! 1871 says she is widowed, 1861 appears to say unmarried? |

Bit of a tangent I think, as obviously William could be from anywhere, but wondering if related somehow? This William is a master mariner: |

The major drawback is that there is no way of knowing when or where William was born...........he didn't even have an obvious relation as a witness to his marriage |

I know. Might be a dead end. Just thought it's an interesting co-incidence as the name isn't all that common, and Margaret seems to have spent all her days there after 1841. |

Hello Linda, where did you get the info about a potential death in Spain? |

Have sent Linda a message to let her know she has some replies. (She might not want to see my offerings though!!). |

And maybe a brother? Thurlstone parish includes Bantham. |
