Update: now have the death certificate for Frederic Dakin, first and only son of Robert and Amy. He didn't go to New Zealand with them but Louisa did.
Frederic died on the 22nd May 1861 from 'inflammation of the lungs'. - he was 11 months old.
Robert, Amy and Louisa, along with Amos, Amy's younger brother set sail from Gravesend on September 24th 1875 on the ship Carnatic. They were part of a group of approx. 50 passengers; 118 days later they landed in New Zealand.
How brave they were!
