I am trying to find the death record of a person who was born in India c 1865 ( of British parents) and died in India in 1955. Is there a web site that will have these records

If the death was registered at the British Consulate then the record may be on FMP Overseas deaths.

if you want a look up then please give all the detail you know

The person i'm looking for is Eliza Maria Lawrence formerly Bibb, nee Beeby born c1865 in india.

She died in May 1955 and was residing at
44 Mount Road ( now known as Anna Salai Road, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India) and was buried in the nearby protestant grave yard called, St Thomas Garrison Church No 1, G S T Road, St Thomas Mount, Chennai - 600016.

I need to know if it's possible to obtain a death certificate from India

Her marriage is recorded but think have looked at it before as it is marked as viewed. will post again anyway.

Just a thought . as you know where she is buried would it be worth contacting the Church to see if they can advise you on a death cert

Hi Evangeline

I to have someone who died in India I was given a site run by a couple ...sadly he passed away many years ago and then about a year ago the lady died, the website now says there is no one to run it .....when I was given the website addy I was told they could possibly get death certificates from india but as both parties have now died I guess its down to those with ancesters that would like to know how to get them

One tip GOOGLE the address

I got lucky someone had been to my church yard in India and i mailed him he said he took pictures of the graves and didnt fine the one I wanted BUT there was a lot of distruction in the yard!!
