Not finding a James C*gan born Shropshire 1853-1860. *Throws up spellings Corragan, Corregan, Corrigan.
Wonder if Shifnal is his earliest memory and born elsewhere or even that he was born into an Army/RM family and could have been anywhere?

?? There is this MArtin Currigan in Shifnal 1861, is it just a coincidence, he would have been rather young c 16 when James was born if he was the father? Perhaps you are looking for a James ----- 1861
