Thanks Ann.. re the familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/j/e/?f/Dianne-Jeffree... - Cached Ref.. The Gross / Le Gross / Grose material therein accords with detail I have & I noted that it contains both Lanman ( Joan) & Lanyon references but has not joined them. The house of names suggestion that Lanman is a corruption of Langman is interesting in that the Langman & Grose lines do cross ( allbeit a century or two later ) but I will now check the earlier Langman generations. |

Hi all.. in my line there is a Thomas Grose ( aka Gross) born Sept 1512 in Kelsale, Suffolk, married. at Hacheston in 1537, to a Joan Lanman, born c.1517 , aka Lanion & Lanyon with many Trees linking her to the family ,Lanyon of Lanyon. The Visitations of Cornwall has a Pedigree however for this latter family and there is No 1517 Joan in that document at all. |
