Haldrich was 1 of 13 children. Parents William George Beard and Fanny Francis nee Wigley.

Now Haldrich appears in 1881 census born Strood Kent aged 5.

After that he disappears.

1911 census shows that Fanny had 13 children (and I have names for all) and that according to the census record none had died up to that time.

Would appreciate any information. Thought that with a name of Haldrich he would be a cinch to find. Thought was good but result is zilch so far

You all appear to have found the family okay. But what happened to Haldrich

Do not believe it is a transcription error and on 1881 census appears definate to me. Misspelling Frederick does not seem an option.
At 15 I would expect to see him on 1891 census but no sign.

So has left home. Cannot get any hits on Service Records

Like you said, there are 13 children born and none died so there can't be a Frederick and a Haldrich... that would be too many.

I do agree that the image of 1881 writing seems clear, but if Haldrich is not Frederick, where was Frederick in 1881...?
The baptism record shows him to be of the same family.

It could be a pet family name, as suggested or maybe something as simple as a badly copied notation from one book to another by the inumerator.

and a Laura Beard died in 1908 aged 21.

which would account for him being a widower in 1911.

The marriage certificate would confirm if Frederick's parents were William and Fanny.
