please could someone help me with this info, my great grandfather former soldier mr Charles shaw, re inlisted in 1915 aged 45, stated on his army records, attached for duty with mssrs burrows and sons Attercliffe Sheffield, to work as his aid? what aid would he have been , anyone know, please

Burrows, S.H.& Sons Ltd (bat iron manufacturers).
Residing at South Yorkshire Iron Works Coleridge Road Attercliffe, in 1905.
