I'm hoping someone can help me with Scottish records, as they don't appear to have an equivalent to Free BMD up there? My Grandfather James Edward Jamieson was I believe born 25th August 1903 (this year may be out by a few years?), his father was George Jamieson of Unst, Shetland and his mother Barbara Hughson of Fetlar, Shetland.

I am after an exact place of birth for my Grandfather? I believe it may have been Leith or Edinburgh, however I have a book that was presented to him by Stirlingshire Education Board, so that confuses the issue.

My Grandfather also had a younger brother, William Hughson Jamieson, born circa 1908. Can anyone supply an exact date of birth and location of birth.
