Thelma - another fail safe in the software not put in place. Have you clicked on the five names to see if your tree in still linked to them

Deleting a contact's name will not remove a linked tree.
You have to deactivate any links first before deleting their name.

Against the names in your contact list you should see 3 headings, Friends, Family Tree and Keepsafe with tick boxes against each heading.

Click the stop box against each you have linked to them.
Go back to the Tree dashboard and the list of names under Trees Shared by me to check their name has gone.

Only then you can delete their name in the contact list.

GR software programmers should have added a warning pop up notice to appear when one tries to delete a name in your contacts list that you linked to by your tree or keepsake. Obviously this has not been done.

Joyce - can see a potential problem if one has many name in their contacts list. There is no sort option 'Trees Shared by me' hyperlink under the left hand column Message Tools.

Be warned!
There is a glitch.Deleting a contact does not mean they will disappear from your dashboard.

For those with a tree on GR first open your tree
Under the name of the home person you will see View other trees
Click on this and it opens to Tree dashboard
First tag says My Trees
Second tag says Trees Shared by me

To delete a person who is listed in your Trees shared by me list
Go to Contacts - find their name and untick the approval to share your tree.

Hope all is clear
