Brick Wall: I am trying to trace any record of Samuel Nickson's mother, (He was a cabinet maker and auctioneer in Chester) . A entry in the British newspaper Chester Chronicle feb 1814, reports her demise age 82 in York st, Chester. I have searched the parish records, bishops transcripts (including manually at the records office), NBI, Ancestry, FMP but cannot find any reference as to her burial. If anyone has any other ideas they are very welcome. Thank you.
Re more info Samuel was born 1772, Where unknown, though Cheshire looks favourate. He was made a freeman of Chester in 1802 and married Mary Whalley in 1803. He has a witness on his marriage cert William Nickson. His trade was cabinet maker and upholsterer in Bridge st, Chester. No record of him in apprentice records. He later went into the auctioneer business. There are many adverisements in the newspaper section re his businesses. He had four children, Mary, William Ralph and Samuel. Samuel jnr became a solicitor and lived in Fordigbridge, before moving to Australia. Ralph moved to Liverpool, so did William. Samuel Snr followed and lived with Ralph, 1741census he died 1747 Liverpool. Mary stayed in and around Chester, leaving a large legacy to her brother, Samuel. Ed

from Ed
Samuel was born 1772. I have loads of info on him in Chester and beyond. The entry for his mother in the paper does not say her first name, just her age, 82.

Re Ralph's marriage bond, sounds interesting, will look further into this, thanks.
Re Ann nixon, have seen this one before but name is spelt diffrent and age slightly out. But a strange thing, In records she died at Queen street that joins onto York street, where 'Mrs Nickson' died. Strange I know! Ed
