I think the facts prove the other GR member is wrong, there is a
marriage 1934 in Bishop Stortford Hertfordshire of a Grantham to
a Fishlock , John E Grantham was born Bishop Stortford, and although
Carol E Grantham was born in Wiltshire, she married in Bishop Stortford ,
looks like they were brother and sister, mother born 1912 Pewsey Wiltshire
died 1971 Bishop Stortford, father born 1910 Bishop Stortford died 1992
Hatfield Hertfordshire.

The birth for Carol is in Wiltshire, and I know there are huge numbers of Fishlocks in Wilts...lol but no link to the Brentford ones.

Be wary Katy if this info is being taken from someone's tree, esp if it's on Ancestry because there are Wilt's families who have assumed that all Fishlocks are 'theirs' and vice versa

This might explain the first birth as in the same area

Does this person have the birth certs as that would sort it out

Have you found the births on FreeBMD to see the maiden name of mother

John has Fishlock as mmn and there is one for Carol

Have you looked for another marriage with both those surnames ?

Hi again everyone,

I have a little problem that I was wondering if anyone could help me with. While I was doing some more research into the Granthams I received a message from a lady also researching them.

Now the little problem I have is that all though all our information matches there are two people I have never heard of.

Percival Frederick Grantham 1901-1971 is my Great Grandfather. He married Rose Emily Fishlock. They had four children Pauline 1928-1993 (My nan), Pamela Kathleen S 1940-2004, Peter Frederick 1929-2005 and Frank T 1993. And all our information matches for these relatives. The issue is she believes and has apparently found information that states that Percival had two more children; John E Grantham 1936 and Carol E Grantham 1946.

Can anyone help me out please because I am struggling to find anything to prove this. My mum doesn't remember being told about John and Carol but the oldest of her half sisters thinks she remembers hearing my nan speak of a John when she was very young. I was wondering if anyone can help me prove or disprove this as at present I am struggling to do either.

Pauline was born in Brentford on the 1st January 1928.

If anyone can please help me I would be very grateful.

All The Best,

Kate x
