Still trying to find the father/mother of this chap following an earlier attempt. He married twice, to Hannah Jane Wright in 1882 and then to Eliza Wall in 1895. One certificate gives father as also a John Poucher, stone mason's labourer, dec'd. Census shows our John born in Horsforth, Yorks., but no record anywhere of a birth in Yorks. Believe he was possibly born in Lincolnshire where most Pouchers originate, and moved to Horsforth. Appreciate help given last time but the leads didn't discover our John's parents - any more ideas?!! |

Interesting Could George (1871 & 1881) really be John Snr? |

The first marriage was to Hannah Jane Wright (I think) althougn on the census she is Jane H, so this is probably her death: |

There doesn't seem to be any reason for him to lie about his father, unless he didn't actually know him. The one on the various census doesn't really add up - George is still alive (a widow) in 1901 living with son Sam Poucher. |

(this below perhaps son of George and Fanny) |

Yes, that's the other John I saw Chris. Although their marriage doesn't appear to be in the parish registers either, I wondered if he was more likely to be George's son. That one died Pateley Bridge I think. |

The other thing, Jonesey posted a marriage for Fanny Garrett to John Poucher in 1852, but that is an Ancestry link and could be wrong. I haven't checked for them yet though. |

Thanks to everyone for their response to my recent John Poucher query. I am sorting through these and checking/following your suggestions. Much appreciation from this end!! |
