Hello Pelo,

As you asked if the names rang any bells with anyone, I just wondered if you were looking for connections on this site. If so, click on Search above and then on Search All Trees. There are quite a few members on here who have a Richard Langdale - varying years of birth - in their trees. You can contact the tree owners for further information. Cx

The Probate info posted above for Richard Langdale does not mean that his widow Sarah was bequeathed £450. That was the value of his Estate, and she was granted Probate (or Administration). She may, of course, have been the sole legatee, but only the actual Will would give you those details

These Pearsons seem to come from North Yorkshire where it borders with Durham and Westmoreland. It's not too far from Langdale Pikes which I think is now in Cumbria but I am unsure if the borders have changed over the years.

EDIT: I will correct that. George gives his birth place as Newsham Yorkshire. There are two. One on the borders and another is the village next door to Kirby Wiske so I would guess at him being from the second one. It is still in North Yorkshire but not as close to the borders. John the father is from the border region.

This could be George and Margaret in 1851. John pearson 83 could be the father of the Pearsons but they are from Yorkshire not Westmoreland.

I live down under & am unfamiliar with smaller areas in UK.

A friend's gt g'mother Ann Langdale always said her husband John Pearson came from a Westmoreland family that owned Langdale Pikes.

Apparently 3 Langdales married 3 Pearsons.

Do these names ring any bells with anyone?

Any help would be much appreciated.
