Summary surname matches

How do I use the Surname matches ?
opened the surname matches ,mine on left how do I post a surname search on the right hand side Most of the surnames have the first name most of them start with A
is there no other first names
My name is not on left .

If you are looking for surname matches go to SEARCH... towards top right of your screen and then Search Trees.
You can then search surname and forename in a particular area and time frame, but sometimes 'less is more' and a wider search without the latter 2 filters works best.

The surname summary shows the number of surname matches that Genes members have posted on their trees, that match surnames in your online tree. In the drop-down box you can search for trees added within a given period of time. I usually check every couple of weeks, if I remember using the 14 days option on that box.
