Those references on the Medal card - the E/2 refs, relate to the entry on the actual Medal Rolls. They would give the battalion(s) he served with , and then you could look at War Diaries for the relevant battalions to see what he would have been involved in. Some Diaries are available for download on the National Archives site. |

Thank you both for your assistance. Yes I did find the card on Ancestry. You have helped clarify a few things. I'll send my Mum off to Kew if she wants more information. ;-) |
