Thanks Vicci - I knew that part of Lambeth was heavily populated but oh boy three sets of Griffiths' within numbers 41 to 57 King street and with Henry's and Alice's or Amy's as spouses and two with Mary Ann Amy's born on the 20th of April 1892! Looks like I'm gonna have my work cut out for me disproving all the anomalies!!! :-S |

The record posted was for births in the Lambeth Workhouse - William, born to Henry and Amy Griffiths. It was not a christening record so far as I can see. |

GB Is there a free search on baptismal records for the birth of William Griffiths that you posted earlier - Just wondering which church it was from? I'll happily trawl through to find any other Griffiths births with Henry and Amy as parents. |

I would be inclined to believe the birth and marriage certificate - and put the christening down to the curate's mistake. Not sure if relevant, but the christening record had father down as Scravenger. |

This might need to be ruled out. 1881 says born 1871 Newington |
