If, as your post suggests, you have access to censuses, it's unlikely that we can do anything you can't.

Civil BMD info can be found ONLY on SP.....which requires the purchase of credits

thanks for all the help and info
I have got back to Thomas Neilson born 1806 but where
married to Christina Mc Millan and had two sons Duncan
& Robert both born Paisley (1841 census) I have not realy started on the Canning side yet

Researching:
Neilson, Canning, Mcfadyen, McGuire. Paisley, Port Glasgow, Greenock. Scotland, County Down Ireland

I hit a brick wall about 2 years ago and gave up my searches .now thinking of trying again but will need a bit of help. looking for any info on neilson and canning families greenock, port glasgow ,paisley .any replies may just get me started again .
