Use freebmd to find accurate birth info for the children.....specifically, the year the first one was born

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/

Buy the parents' marriage cert, to find out how old the couple were.....and the details of their fathers.

You need as much details as possible with common surnames.......

Or could this, perhaps, be the marriage? Do you know if Lily was her first name or could it have been her middle name?

I am trying to search two very common names and struggling! I have a Thomas Smith who married Lily White. They had several children including Mary Christine (born 1927 n my hubby's Nan) - some of her siblings were Alf, Peggy, Raymond, Reggie and Marion (maybe more but not sure). They lived in the centre of Birmingham. Looking to find out as much as possible going backwards if anyone can help.
