Hello... I need some help please.
Agnes Louisa Foster was born to Patience Padley and Arthur Edward Foster in Gainsborough Jan 1915. Unfortunately Patience died not long after giving birth and is noted as deceased on Agnes's birth certificate.
I can't find any other details about Agnes after her birth. My nan tells me she died in the 1930s after getting married, but the only record I can find that would fit the marriage is to a John Brennan but when I ordered the certificate the father of Agnes wasn't right. There was quite a scandal around her death which I am trying to investigate further, but I don't have her married name to help me.
As I type my only thought is that maybe Arthur had to give up Agnes when she was born due to the death of Patience, but my Nan can remember her and remembers her marriage.
Any ideas will be gratefully received.
Thanks Rhoda

Hello thank you for your responses.
Thanks Fred for the references - I've got those details. Really sad to see Patience died in childbirth too. Fred K - nearest marriage I think i found was Leicester but it wasn't right.
Jan - no she died in Nottingham - basford, bulwell area. The story is her husband killed her not long after they married - mid 1930s.
Gins - I don't think she was fostered - Nana has never said she was, but then I don't know if her father remarried or not either. It was just a thought. Nana called her Dolly for years and it took me about six months to discover she was called Agnes!
Chris / Fred - I will contact the other tree people and let you know!
Thank you all
Rhoda
