This is where I am lost - theres the possibility they are from Ireland further back, were not sure. As Catherine was born in Bradford I assume her parents are also as she never mentioned her parents as being Irish |

There are Military Records for Alexander Dwyer who married Sarah Ann Hefferman on 8 July 1911 at the Register Office, Manor Row, Bradford. There is one child Catherine born 3 March 1915 Bradford. |

Hi T, you'll often come across cases where a widow gave birth to children after the death of her husband (sometimes many years after) they would be recorded in the surname of the late father because that was the mother's surname when she gave birth. You may even find that her late husband is named as the father on the birth certificate even when it's not humanly possible - probably all to do with maintaining dignity. |
