That link was amazing...what sites do you all go on to get all this information...I only use FREEBMD and Genes reunited... I think I should subscribe to something more decent...I've spent all day on the laptop going round in circles, paying out for certificates and having to wait a week at a time before I recieve them, and you guys come with stuff so easily .

Thank you you all for taking the time to search for me... I dont know why, but I keep getting this nagging feeling that I may be going down the wrong family tree, everything was matching up from my research working from 1956 backwards to 1877 GEORGE HALL born St PANCRAS, I ordered the certificate and everything is leading me to all of above... but noticed it stated his father as just Henry Hall- it should really say Thomas Henry Hall, but I ignored it, thinking sometimes they drop a name... I think the best thing is for me to order the other George Hall birth certificate Pancras 1876 and see if the Father's name comes up THOMAS HENRY HALL, If it doesnt, then I know all of the above is correct after all.
I hope it is or I've wasted money on the last 3 certificates! xxx fingers crossed..I will add on here when I get the information xx

Where have you arrived at the father's age as being born around 1825?? Have you anything to back this up?

Yes according to the marriage (assuming it is the right marriage) he was a railway porter, but obviously his age is not given, so he could be much older if Henry was the youngest of a large family.

Added: Hi Gins are there other threads on this?

Thankyou Gins... I was rather hoping that Henry could be found with his Father James in some of the census's (1851 and 1861) first, before i purchase another certificate :-(

My only clues are Father James being a RAILWAY PORTER born abt 1825 which would make him aged abt 26yrs in an 1851 census and Henry abt 9 yrs old and James in the 1861 census abt 36yrs and Henry abt 19yrs

Henry being born 1842 (later his occupations buthcher/meat carrier
placing them around St Pancras and Marylebone

Gee

Gee Report 23 Mar 2013 16:16

Someone has this as his birth (Tree)

Births Dec 1842 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
HALL Henry St Pancras 1 286

The certificate should give you his parents names

Linda

Linda Report 23 Mar 2013 16:14

I believe that the 1871 is the correct one, Henry was born in st pancras.

Flip Report 23 Mar 2013 16:10

Could you confirm whether the 1871 census is the right person - there are rather a lot of Halls around. You may be trying to get back from him, but in order to do this we need to know where he was from - could have been born anywhere!

Linda
