If your relative is thinking of going to the area, the place to check would be the Barrow in Furness records office at the main library - they have the Ulverston parish records indexed, and staff there are very helpful.

The parish church is St Mary's, but the lancs-opc site posted by Jax has gaps from about 1780 -1820 ish, although familysearch has more coverage.

No I can't only the name! I didn't see any other Betty when I looked, I wonder if she was put as Elizabeth? it would be 1842, are you able to check that quite easily? I don't want you to send ages ploughing through. I am just trying to find out where she would be buried and maybe she would be with her husband. A descendant of this family from NZ is living in yorkshire at the moment and she was thinking of going to the area and try and find any Rays from that area.

I posted the death in 1842 which could be her if she was in her 80s

Is this what you found?

Hi, well I checked the lancashire deaths and burials on ancestry.co.uk 1813-1986 and saw a Betty Ray on the first page and there was also a Robert a few names below. I also found a death on freeBMD for mar qtr1842 ulverstone. she doesn't appear on the 1851 with Roger and Sarah Ray, who she was living with in 1841, they went of to NZ late 1851.
I found a bap for Roger Ray in 1798 with a father Robt. so was just wondering if the Robert I found on the website could possibly him

I would be most grateful if someone could give me the details of Betty Ray and Robert Ray that I found on the first page of this page on ancestry, I know Betty is definately one I need, she was living with Roger Ray and his family on the 1841 census and then found her death in 1842 in this area on the freebmd. Not sure of the Robert Ray, but he could possibly be her husband?
Many thanks
