My friend is trying to find a record of parents or other family for Olga Ida BELCHAMBERS who died in UK in1985.
Her death certificate states that she was a spinster, 81, born in India on 4 February 1904.

Her nephew Clarence Harland PIGOT was the informant.

I have found what I believe is a record of his marriage and death in England and his travel ( with fiancee? ) on a ship arriving Tilbury in June 1956.
Their destination is to an address c/o Mrs PIGOT in Welling, Kent. In old lists of telephone directories I have found Olga Ida living at that same address into 1980s.

Please can someone help with family links?

We came up with the same lack of records for Olga in India.
I couldn't see her on immigration lists either.

Alan Edgar was born in Kingston, Surrey and went to India because of his Army career.
He returned to UK and fits into a known family.

Jehu Belchamber married late he was 73 when he married a widow Rosina Voice age 61 at Midhurst registry office on the 27th October 1947.Both Jehu and Rosina were living at Foresters Cottage,Kirdford.Witness’s were G.Trussler and G.H Luff the ceremony was performed by A.F.Werry the Registrar.Both fathers were deceased James Belchamber and William Hooding. Jehu died on the 21st of August 1953 at home Foresters Cottage,Kirdford.His informant was a step daughter G.M.Baker the death was register on the 25th 0f August.
After a short term in the Sussex Militia. Jehu joined the army on the 21st of February, 1893, when he enlisted in the Royal Sussex Regiment in Chichester. As a Private No 4305 and the age of 21 years 1 month he was 5ft 3 inches tall, weighed 132 Lbs. With a fresh complexsion, brown eyes and hair and no distinctive marks on his body.

After passing a medical examination he was attested.

He was posted to India on the 3rd of April 1894 where he stayed for over 20 years, returning home on the 3rd April,1914 where he was discharged medically unfit(too old) on the 28th April at Netley,serving a total of 21 years 61 days. He gained two certificates of education 3rd class in 16th of September, 1896 and 2nd class on the 16th of July, 1896.He passed two classes of instruction Pushtu (LS) on the 1ST April 1901 and Supply Duties on the 31st July 1903. (Pushtu, is the language of the Pathan races of Afghanistan and the North-West Frontier province of India.)

I do think the spouse is Clarence Osbourne PIGOT.
I had come across a probable death for him in UK in 1965.

I see probate after Eric's death was granted to Olga Ida, thus confirming the link.

My friend will be delighted when I phone her.

My friend was so pleased with the information....Thank you.

She now has another query......probably linked to the same family group.

She has England death cert. for a Jessica Florence BELCHAMBER 70,..of Bickley, Kent..,who died in 1959..the widow of Oswin Harland BELCHAMBER, a retired Burmah Oil employee.
Informant was C.K.TREVOR, nephew.of S.W.16.

How does he link to her and how does Oswin fit into the family which also have Harland as a middle name.
Friend has not found UK information for Oswin.

Any help would be great please.
