Sorry, but I just have to share a tidbit...this is why I think so many of us keep going with the family research:) Did a death search for my G-Uncle and found that he died in my hometown, almost 70 years ago. Too weird that he would end up there:)

Thanks, Pam, I have her DOB as July 23, 1884, with the same father. Thanks for pointing me in a new direction. I have to check, but I think that Essendale was a provincial facility. Mmmmm....

Not seeing much at all but I think that Canada has a time closure on some records. Someone with more experience of Canadian records may be able to clarify the situation regarding availability.

This may be a red herring.

I am looking for any descendants of my G-Uncle, Frederick Charles Millar Rankin, born in Glasgow in 1888. He was married to Elizabeth Roy Dargie, and I have a ship's record of them landing in Montreal in 1919. There is also mention of them as witnesses of my grandfather, Albert Rankin, at his marriage in Drumheller, Alberta, in 1923. He may have settled in Canada as a farmer in either Alberta or Saskatchewan. Thanks for any assistance you may provide.
