looks as if she died in infancy.

thanks for the info!! im wondering if his name was rodney or poss his second name as gateshead was not where she was living!! was told they moved from bristol to croydon, surrey!! poss when margaret ada dixon was made a widow after john died!! but we just don't know!
so this mystery brother born??
violet born in bristol 1938
kathleen born in croydon 1943
gerry born in farnham 1945
3 born in canada1947 to 1952!!

hi dea, she was told by her sister violet dixon!! as violet was brought up by her nan when dorcas left the country she remembers rodney being spoken about being giving away and my mothers adoption as the nan was old and couldn't look after them!! my mum and violet only made contact this year as they was seperated years ago!! violet was telling my mum things she remembered about the family!!

To verify the story, or otherwise, buy the cert detailed above, to find out the mother's name

Alternatively, advise your mother to add herself to the national adoption contact register

If you check on FreeBMD you will see that there is only one Rodney Dixon born in UK between 1930 and 1943 with mother's maiden name Dixon and that was in Gateshead in 1941. - He also has a middle name ?

How has your mother 'just discovered this' - what has she been told and by whom please?

my moyhter has just found out she has a long lost brother out there somewhere!! my mum was born in croydon in 1943 kathleen janice dixon! she has a sister called voilet dixon bron in bristol in 1938!! there mother was dorcas may dixon born in bristol in 1918! voilet believes their brother is older than her and was called rodney! possible giving away to family or put up for adoption. as my mum was given up for adoption and violet was giving away to family!! dorcas left the country to canada in 1946 and was happy married with more children!! she this mystery brother has to been born early than 1944!! i think my mum just wants to know what happened to him!! i know their isn't much to go on?? no date etc but any help or advise would be great!! many thanks x
