Find Ancestors

Hi, I hope someone can help, I am research my Grandfathers Mothers Mother Elizabeth Ann Reed she had a daughter (my Great grandmother) Florence Elizabeth Reed.. Before i sent away for her Birth Cert i was told she was born out of wedlock and was brought up by her Grandmother ( no one know who she is) they lived in Llantwit Major. Florence Elizabeth according to birth cert was born 27th December 1887 at Bridgend Union work house to Elizabeth Ann Reed a General servant in Llantwit Major, and this is all i have on Elizabeth Ann. As for Florence Elizabeth she married my Great Grandfather James William Mear and i have lots of information from then on to do with the Mears. I just am finding it difficult to know exactly who she is on the census returns.
Any help would be much appreciated

A tree on Ancestry has that 1891 census attached to Florence but her mother was Elizabeth and there is an Elizabeth aged 5 in that census- two daughters with the same name? Also, William is the same age as Florence.

According to a tree on Ancestry ( it may be yours, I don't know )

I have looked at this census do you think this is Elizabeth Ann's Grandmother? If it is who would she be? Bessie Reed? The others are to young to be Florences Mother, is that Florence aged 3 at bottom?
Sorry, it is cofusing.
The only added information my Mother has given me is that by the time Elizabeth Ann Married she was having children around the same time as her daughter Florence. Her other children were Phyllis, Alice and Morfydd, possibly Griffiths, but again cant work out if i have the correct people when searching

Poster has said that Florence was brought up by her grandmother. Probably recorded as daughter in error.


Wonder if this is Elizabeth worrking away from home ... ( born in Somerset like her mother ?)

Mike, it is my tree, although i have deleted the death of 1900 so i don't know why its still there, if it is correct about her having second family then they would have been born around 1900's because my Grandfather was 1912 and Elizabeth Ann was having children around same time.
I have also looked at workhouse records and it seems to be the same Ann as 1891 census, her children including Bessie are in the workhouses especially for children in Bridgend, but there are other Reed children i don't recognise from census

It looks possible. she probably did work away from home, under the circumstances.
How many Elizabeths can you have in one family!

Florence and William were not twins, there is no William Reed recorded same quarter as Florence's birth.

So, as suspected, children of 2 different mothers
