I did know about Bessie but unfortunately she died aged 2yrs.and Harry died aged 12yrs.

Kate Barter b11 May 1887 Hilfield. Parents Walter and Elizabeth Barter of Holwell.
They died 1905 and 1901 respectively and the family got split up.
There was 2 Kate Barter's born around the same time the other one being Milton Abbas in 1888.

Rather than the speculation - which you have already tried by buying wrong certificates - could you post up your grandfather's details - eg him on a census with his parents, that way we would know the parents names. And even try to check she was actually his sister.

The tree on ancestry has no actual birthdate (and just has Dorset for birthplace) for the Kate who married William Gibbs so it could be either one of them.

Innes - which are the marriage certificates you've bought and discounted (presumably because the age or father was wrong?)

There were two Kate Barter's baptised in 1887:

Is anyone a decendent of Kate Barter b11 May 1887 at Hilfield,Holwell,Dorset.
I didn't know my Grandfather had a sister until I started the family tree.
I can find her in the 1911 census at Bournemouth as a housemaid to the Eaton sisters.
No one seems to have her in their tree on Genes.
Have sent for 4 marriage certificates to no avail.
There is a death in New Forest Sept 1946 but the age is 6yrs.out
I would love to know what happened to her.
