Looked at the 1901 census, but Phylis is missing. Enumerator had trouble with Hepzibah's name too.

She crossed the border seeking a work permit. I think it says that she disembarked originally in 1911 in Halifax aboard the Corinthian (or would that be her Sponsor) but it's quite difficult to read.

Thanks everyone I wonder where she was in 1901 As you say the enumerator missed Hephzibahs name off I wonder if Phyllis was just missed too. I was hoping she might be with her Brickles family. Her mother Frances was a Brickles

According to this passenger list she was in Canada from May 1911/12 but I can't find her travel details. Her father James is also listed as living there.

Think this is sister going to Canada in 1911, but no sign of Phyllis though - Lilian appears to be travelling alone.

This would match up with the info on the border crossing, she appears to be alone and I think it says "to brother" - she's a scholar.

Checked the 1901 census for Brickles in Middlesborough. Found one Phyllis M. Brickles (age 1 not 3) with John J, but unfortunately she was his daughter.
