Thomas McKay, born (Glasgow?) Lanarkshire 1873/4, died Woolwich, London 1942. He married Dublin-born Esther (Essy) McCarthy, served in the 15th Hussars and had children named Mary, Thomas, John, Margaret and Eileen. |

Thanks for all the quick responses. I have Thomas McKay and his descendents pretty well covered from 1901 onwards. It is the earlier period and in particular any information that takes me back to his parents that I am seeking. |

I got his marriage from Ancestry.co.uk and pulled the full details from his WW! Army record, same site |

I think it was John that died on 23rd April 1902? Thomas is on the 1911 census |

Gins, I can certainly say that John survived until 1981 as he was my Father! Thank you very much for the information supplied; I should at last be able to get somewhere. |
