Thomas Tuffnaill married Mary Jane Wilson daughter of John Wilson 25 Nov 1867 Arlesey, Bedfordshire. I am trying to find the 1871 census with them hopefully together to get more info on her and see of any children between 1868 and 1871. In 1881 Thomas is back with his parents (Joseph Tufnail & Mary Cooper) as married and there is a grandchild in the household who could be his daughter. Emily Ellen Tufnail was born Offord, Huntingdonshire in 1875. Thomas died in 1886. There is no baptism for her in familysearch.org. There are two Offords: Offord Cluny which is included that late in IGI and Offord Darcy which is not. Those records are available at the Family History Center through 1877 plus in a book that continues into 1900s which I will check, but a baptism will just verify parents. Emily Ellen died in 1901, unmarried. This is a distant relative so not likely to get a certificate. There are a lot of alternate spellings: Tufnail, Tufnaile, Tuffnaell, Tufnell, Tuffnail, Tuffnaill and Tuffnell.

You are great. That 1871 does seem to be the right one.

The Tufnails of Arlesey are in Biggleswade District. But Thomas seems to be the only one who could be having children at that time. Thomas Jr. we see in the census, but John Robert must be theirs too. Can't find Thomas anywhere in death or census.
