On a later document (his sons marriage certificate) he was a 'Brass Finisher', that was in 1937, but I'm unsure if he was still alive then, it's a little complicated as his son (my wifes grandad) was put into a Childrens home, I know his mum, Matilda Collison Robertson died in 1918 aged 37 and I have her side going back to the late 1700's but I just can't seem to locate her husband James Grant or the other son!!! I have Matilda and James getting married in 1906, but other than that I simply cannot place him!!! Frustrated!!! Lol! Thanks for your help x

	He definitely wasn't at 50 Nelson St. in 1911. You could do with his age and birthplace really. Jan

I'm searching for James Grant, he was my wifes great grandfather, it's a bit of a complicated story, but I'm quite happy to share if anyones interested lol! Anyway, I know from my wifes grandfathers birth cert that he lived at 50 Nelson Street, Bethnal Green in 1906, but I cannot find him for toffee on the 1911 census! James's wife and her son (my wifes grandad) were both in the Homerton Hospital on the 1911, but as I say, I can't find her husband at all, there should also be another son who was born in 1907 but I can't find him either :-/ I hope I haven't made that too complicated! Thank you!

	You can search 1911 easily, but others are a little more complicated. Who are you looking for? If there are members of the family with an unusual surname, then it may be easier than you thought. Elliott, As this is your first posting I will explain how to answer. Either click on the Add Reply button at the top and put your answer into the box, then click on Submit. or Just scroll down to the bottom of the answers posted and you will find the box there. Put your reply into the box and press Submit.

	It's possible on Find my Past but I don't think it is as easy on here or Ancestry. If you want to give details we can take a look for you!

Im having real problems finding an ancestor but I know which road they lived in and it'd be really helpful to search the address rather than the (extremely common) name!!! Any advice would be greatly appriciated! Thanks, Elliot.
