thanks Jan but the geneologist at B'ham registry office has checked all entries for James and Edward as Taylor and MCoy and none of the parents match so i'm really stuck. If they were born out of wedlock she may have gone home to ?dudley to have them but GRO can't find them ?? |

Thanks Chris. The family were definately brass casters/ iron workers. The 1871 Census is worth another look as I cant find a 1871 on free cen for McCoy. |

Sorry if I sound stupid but does that mean what Anncardiff posted was a possibility or has the research done shown that it is the same Edward??? |

Karen, I wouldn't worry too much about the age discrepancy 1891 and 1901. It's only 3 years - slightly more than you usually see, but not that unusual. If all other info fits just ignore it. |
