Gwenda Report 2 Oct 2012 07:43

My great grandfather, born in Ireland C1819, married Catherine??? C1852. He lived most of his life in Woolich near London UK. Any information about John & Catherine appreciated but most especially her maiden name. John died at Woolich in 1876 & Catherine, also at Woolich, in 1913. Many thanks to anyone who helps. Gwenda Farrell, Featherston NZ.

The easiest way to get her maiden name is to buy the birth certificate of one of their children.

There is this marriage in 1852 but not sure how you would know if it's the right one:-

If Barbara has the right Catherine in the 1911 census then the second family I posted in the 1861 census is more likely to be the one.

To all of you who have been so very helpful in answering my questions - if you are still watching after ALL THIS TIME, you have my most humble & profuse apologies for not replying immediately you posted.

After that time I had had a period of hospitalisation & operations & did rather loose my way in respect of computer work. Then we shifted from the North Island to the South! But deeply hap[py here & back into the searching for various links to our families' past.

The kindness of you folk on this message board never cease to amaze & delight us with your kindnesses. Thank you.
