'unknown', you could try looking on Freebmd for all w. Nicholls born within those dates - no choice but to scroll down and select all Welsh males! |

Hi just wondered if you have come across a W.Nicholls in your search. Welsh ex forces birth date approx 1919-1925. Was stationed at Warminster Wiltshire barracks in 1953. If he is alive he will be in his 90's now!. |

Sarah Wallace from the 1871 census (Maria's Mother) appears to be living next door to the Nicholls in 1841 (as Sarah Wallis with husband John). |

I would appreciate it if anyone can find a marriage between Samuel Nicholls and Maria (Wallace?), probably in Gloucestershire around 1825 - 1835? |

I noticed Samuel Nicholls is also in Wales on the 1851 census, same place as James and Elizabeth (Pleasant Fields) but a different house! |

Thanks Jan, I noticed his wife Elizabeth is on the 1851 Risca census too, so that seems to fit very well. Thank you both, I am sure that both censuses are correct, Samuel Nicholls is on the 1851 census of Winterbourne too! |

I think the 1851 above looks promising as he was a mason, and the birthplace fits. |

This looks like his Mother and siblings in 1851 (to rule out him with them) |
