If anyone can spare some time I'd be really grateful. I'm pretty sure I have the birth, marriage record and death records for my maternal great grandfather but I'll be damned if I can find him on any census. I'm totally stumped and was wondering if anyone could lend a pair of eyes to double check I'm not going nuts. |

As you can't find him on a census, what makes you think he was born where and when you suggest? |

Have you also checked using Joseph rather than John |

I don't know his fathers name, I know he was born in Kingston as one section of my family has kept a family bible but as the princes married into that part John is as far back as it goes. |

Do not go by which regiment someone served in. My grandfather born in London served in the Border Regiment. |

Thanks reggie but I'm not made of money haha. If I bought certs for ever single person on my tree the government would make an absolute mint! It might even pay off the national deficit :-D |

Me neither, the whole lot of them seem dodgy. I have found 2 Prince children in the workhouse school but no reference to any parents, I'm wondering if the parents died and a John fended for himself while his siblings ended up in the workhouse. I'm going to try and find there records and see what they say. I'm intrigued now |
