So still haven't been able to link this Elizabeth Drury to my step grandfather George Henry Drury. I located the L Flood who was listed on her death certificate and found that Elizabeth lived with her and her mother but I have searched their families wider and not found any other Drury connection there. Anyone got any other ideas? |

No I know I couldn't find one either but perhaps they never married? Feel like I'm going round in circles! I do love a puzzle though. |

Cannot see a Drury/Faulkner marriage, or a variation on Drury either. |

Thanks for that. So the entry I found for Canada to hawai to australia was probably her return journey from visiting her sister in Canada. |

I've been looking in to George Frederick Drury of Brighton and his children. One of his daughters Rose Miriam Drury married George James Deane and had a couple of children, shown on 1911 in Reigate, Surrey. At some point between 1911 and 1949, she emigrated to Canada, passed through Hawai, and on to Australia. There is a death for a George J Deane in England so I'm thinking her family didn't go with her so perhaps she had an affair with someone and got pregnant resulting in my George Henry Drury. He was told that his mother emigrated to Canada so this could be a definite possibilty. Interestingly, there is a George H Dean born Jun 1911 in Wandsworth. Could this be him I wonder?!? |

Yes I think we can discount the Norfolk George then. As for the Richards, there is the possibility that he was registered without the J which would mean a lot more possibilities - but definitly best to check out the Richard J's first. |

Assuming the fathers name is correct, there are only 3 births for Richard J Drury (that I can see 1850-1900), one died - leaving Richard John 1876 Hackney & Richard James 1884 St Asaph. By 1901 Richard James is in London area and still single in 1911. |

I think the George H born Norwich is on the 1911 census aged 1 month but recorded as George Albert - is with parents, grandparents & brother. Looks unlikely he is the right one. |

Might just be a coincidence that there is a birth in Norwich but wasn't Richard Drury staying with a family (Marsters) who originated from Norfolk on the 1911 census? |

Just searched for a previous marriage and there are a few dotted around the country which could be possible if George was in the RAF and we don't know where he was stationed - nothing jumps out at me though. |

Have you thought about this birth index as you say he" believes" he was born in Islington? |

Yes Peggy was previously married to a Samuel Frederick Wood. I don't know whether George was married before or not - he lists bachelor on his marriage certiificate to Peggy. We know he was living with Samuel Frederick Wood's brother John Henry Wood and his wife Violet and it is rumoured that he had an affair with Violet. George was in the RAF in world war II so thought this might explain a later marriage? |

If you check out BMD I think he was the only Richard born in London area 1870-80, and was recorded as Richard John Drury. |
