Thanks for your help re my Gran,Charlotte Cornock, yes she was also the mother of George as you found, and I believe the mother of Ellen/Eleanor Jane,Cornock/Hurd/Hobbs, born Bangor circa 1847,I could not find a birth registration or baptism for Gran, so many false leads! I will now follow up all the leads given , hopefully finding a true story.

Eleanor claimed Thomas as her father when she got married ..... but that may be either because she thought he was, OR because putting a father's name on the Parish Register looks much better than leaving the space blank

Info wanted on my Grandmother, born circa 1847 in Bangor,North Wales, she was illegitimate, mother being a Charlotte(?) Cornock, father maybe a William Lloyd.
The earliest recording I have is the 1851 census for Slimbridge,Glos, where she was living with her grandparents, as a relative aged 3 years.listed as Ellen Lloyd.
