Find Ancestors

I have a total brickwall wall with my husband's Gt Gran. I'd love to tell my father-in-law where his Gran disappeared to!

Ellen Marie Hammond was born in Walkern, Herts in 1873. I have all her family details and can see her in the 1881 and 1891 Census.
1898 Sept Q marriage to Henry George Calland-Scoble in Lambeth
1898 Dec Q birth of Cecil Douglas Calland-Scoble
1899 Mar Q death of Cecil Douglas
1901 Census in London married to Henry George, written down as Helen Marie
1903 March Q Birth of Vernon Calland-Scoble South Stoneham.

I can't find Ellen's death. Vernon was brought up with his maternal Uncle Frederick in Norfolk. Henry George next resurfaced in Australia where he remarried in about 1910 and had a 2nd family with whom we are in touch.
My problem is Ellen. I can't find her death. I've tried one Ellen Scoble in the 1911 Census but that wasn't her.

I'd be so grateful for any suggestions of where I could look next.

This is a total brickwall and a long shot. I am hunting for the death of Ellen Marie (Helen) Calland-Scoble nee Hammond. We are led to believe that she died in South Africa somewhere between 1901 and 1909. I have just been told that her husband went out as a journalist at the request of Cecil Rhodes. By 1909 her husband Henry George Calland Scoble was in Australia.
