Original says marrried by licence ( no banns) so maybe they were they in a hurry to marry and less than accurate with ages !!

It seems Ralph was born soon after

Since posting this message I have found the ages of James Marsh andMary Howarth. He was 20 and she was 19 at marriage in Eccles in 1788.

If these were the parents of Ralph and Abraham, then Ralph lied about his age on the Juror's List. That states that he was aged 50 in 1801 which makes his birth c 1750 and he would have been 38 at marriage not 20.

It may be interesting for you to take a look at the lancashire on-line parish clerk site. There is a gentleman who holds the records for St. George Unsworth and is willing to do lookups. Hopefully, his link is still active.

Thanks Ann. I know that he was born c1750 as his age is given on the 1801 juror's list and that suggests that he was born in 1750. However I cannot find his burial!

I have a James Marsh who married in Eccles, Lancashire to a Mary Howarth. They had two sons, Ralph 1788 and Abraham 1791. Later moved to Unsworth near Bury. James was a juror in Unsworth. Cannot find his burial even though Ralph and his family were all buried at St. Mary's Prestwich.
Can anyone help me please? :-)
