Well Lorrana is a very unusual name and I see that it goes down to children and so on, so this has probably been something that has helped your search.

I'm struggling to see a 1st marriage for Thomas Jnr..... there are far too many possibilities unfortunately. :-(

Thomas

Thomas Report 20 Jan 2012 22:47

Hi Dee, what I have found in my family tree, is that certain names keep the cropping up in each family connection two or three times, that keeps on the right track I hope ;-)

Royal Hospital Chelsea: Soldiers Service Documents WO 97/304/9

Thank you Dee/Janet for your fast reply and help, I have been trying to be very carefull who I put on my tree, so easy to go off track. There are a lot of T Collinson about but not many married to a Lorrana, so I think you both have found the one I am looking for, I got some info`n from church warden of St Oswalds chr. Crowle , he told me that all the church records had been move to civil hall Crowle,be great if I could find someone there could see what they could find. I should have started when I was younger , but now I am the oldest of family ( 82) I can`t ask the older people .
Well thank you both for your ;-) xx Tom

Thomas Report 20 Jan 2012 21:23

Hi, Gang, back again, you helped me so much last time I thought I would try you with a new poser,,
Thomas Collinson brn 1780c( don`t know where ) Soldier.
married, Lorrania brn 1781c ( maiden name n/k )
they had 2 children,
Mary brn 1805, Crowle. Lincolnshire
+ Thomas brn 1808 " "
both baptised St, Oswalds ch, Crowle Linc,
I have copies of church records for the baptisems.
Thomas Collinson jnr. married Ellizabeth Pass 1840
at Christ ch, Liverpool
marraige cert states Thomas was a widower, they settled in Liverpool, and started my branch of family tree............
So the poser is..
(1) Who was Thomas`s 1st wife ?

(2) if thomas snr, was a soldier, could he have only stationed in army camp there when children were born 1805 / 1808

(3)I have found death cert for Lorrana Collinson ( widow )
of Thomas Collinson ( soldier ) for 2801/1849 Doncaster
This has me thinking that my family could be from the north, and not the south where I have spnt so much time searching.
I looked at the loctions of the Collinson family, and it seems at that time most of them lived in the north, and only a few down south.
Any help or advice PLEASE.
There never seems many replies on Collinson pages, may be I will be lucky , like the last time.
Thomas ( L/Pool )
:-(
