No look with the marriage cert. he did'nt put a father down but I thought this might be. I did find he put his age as 30yrs this would make him b. in 1847 not 1841/3, but on the 1851 census his age is down as 7yrs, I have tried to find a birth reg. for him but he is not reg. as a Birkett or a Graham so his father could be called anything!!! I am confused as to were to look next? Joan

Hi Mike I to have became a grandparent twice over a grandson from my dau. & a granddau. by 1 of my son's, so congratulations, now back to the Birkett's I have been to the archives in Carlisle & spoken to 1 of the archivist's & she say's his birth probablely was'nt registered so I guess we'll never know who Elizabeth, Jane or Christopher's father was if he had the same father as them!! unless someone out there has written info about it all!! I will keep looking & maybe 1 day I'll find something. Joan
