Innes McKay was the son of Peter McKay and Jane McKay, Peter and Jane have a 10 acre farm in Reay in the 1841 census. Jane is recorded as being a pauper in the 1851 census, her daughter Jane and her grand daughter Wilhelmina Paterson are both living with her on the same farm.
Peter and Jane were my 4xs GT grandparents.their son Innes married to Margaret Sutherland were my 3xs GT grandparents. Innes and Margaret,s son Alexander Mackay and wife Donaldina Mackay nee Mackay were my 2xs GT grandparents.
Alexander and Donaldina,s daughter Helen Mackay born 1862 was my GT grandmother.

Hi Ian, Google igi batch numbers Caithness Scotland, opening then click on reay, go to births between the year round about 1770? To 1820? Enter innes Mackay. It should open with Innes,s father peter McKay and mother Jean gun.
