It was by chance that I saw your message re my Ancestors . It was only after I replied that I realised the message was written in 2011. I'm glad the Bible is now with a family member . I'm just disappointed that it's not me !
You mention Leek . My Father's cousin , Edwin Hodgkinson , was a vet in Leek , so I'm guessing it is now with his family .

Gosh this is an old message board now.
I was helping someone out with this Bible from the States in Texas as the lady had bought it at a garage sale. apparently someone claimed it and she went back to England to present the family with it and check they really had a connection to this Birch family.. I think in the end she placed a message on some site in Leek I believe . Disappointed it wasn't my line of Birch's as well as these family bibles are hard to find..So sorry I have no better news to give you.

I am Anne Watkins nee Tunnicliffe . The daughter of Charles John Tunnicliffe , who was the son of Charles and Harriet Tunnicliffe ( nee Birch ) . So that makes ME a Great Grandaughter of John and Alice Birch !

Have you tried Search Trees on this site? You could try contacting anyone who has John, Harriet and Alice in their tree to see if you have a match and take it from there.

I am trying to find any grandchildren or great grandchildren of John and Alice Birch who were married in 1885 in the Ipstones church Staffordhire. their children were Harriet 1866 and Alice 1895 and think there was another daughter as well. John Birch was born in 1866 and Alice was born in 1862. There is a family bible belonging to this couple that my friend wants to give back to the direct family of this couple . There must be some alive surely.
