Mel Fairy Godmother Report 7 Jan 2011 15:26

Ah I see the 1911 census has her born Loughton Essex.

I may have to invest in a marriage cert as Choccy said if I am to sort this out once and for all.

Thanks all of you for your help with this and I am just going to do a correction on Ancestry of the 1901 census.

Someone will be pleased to find their rellies when they could'nt before.

I had an enquiry this morning about Alice Street in my tree and thats why I was trying to follow her up.

I shall now have to contact this person and tell them what I have found out.

Thanks Choccy, Christina, Mandy and Ann of Green Gables for helping a silly old fool!!!

All the Streets in Loughton/Buckhurst Hill are related. Probably the ones in Enfield too! James (Albert) Street was the father-in-law of George Higgins and must have moved in with them when Lydia died. I now have 4 Alice Streets on my tree. :-)

Lydia Lee, Alice Street's mother, was born in Plaistow - Cherry Island..

Alice Beatrice Street, born 1874 Loughton, married John Sadler. She was the daughter of George Street (1838-1892) and Louisa Cooper and the grand-daughter of Thomas Street (1812-1884) and Rachel Bacon (1810-1975).
Alice Street, born 1874 Loughton, married George Higgins. She was the daughter of Albert James Street (1851) and Lydia Lee (1854-1890) and the grand-daughter of Thomas Street and Rachel Bacon.

George Street was the older brother of Albert James Street, so the 2 Alice Street were cousins.

I am descended from William Street (1826-1881), younger brother of Thomas Street (1812-1884).

Hope that helps.
