Find Ancestors

Hi All,

I can't find James Street 1852 born Essex on the 1901 census.

I can only find him on the 1881 and 1891 where he is a widower. I have looked for his children on the 1901 too without any luck.

I wonder if a fresh pair of younger eyes could help please?

For ref the 1891 census where his last child was Genta who seems to be registered as Genty. His wife Lydia died in 1890.

think you will have to get one of the marriage certificates to confirm which one Alice married - there were obviously two Alice Streets


The 1901 census I posted with James Street as 'father-in-law' has same children with him as in 1891.

Just typed loads and lost the lot.

Funny this as it says that Georges Wife Alice was born in Plaistow??????

I wonder if they were just lodgers or some kind of rellies.

It is really a mystery this one.

If that is definitely your family with John Sadler, you need to get their marriage certificate (if you don't already have it) to find out Alice's father's name and occupation.

It looks as though James Street born 1850 is probably not your line, if his daughter Alice married George Higgins.
